I pretty much lived for the discovery channel as a kid.

I love Hyenas. Sooo I'm going to nerd out about them for a second.
Fun Fact time.
1. Hyenas have one of the strongest bite forces. While the internet seems to be confused on the actual PSI, its confirmed to be way up there on the list. Right up there above pit bulls and below crocodiles. Just look at their heads. They are super round and wide to hold all those jaw muscles.
2. No one knows why but the females have enlarged genitals and an extra sack of fibrous tissue that look like testicals. SO basically they all have visible junk. I could go into more detail but I'm going to hold off.
3. Their front legs are longer than their back ones.
4. The babies are born with open eyes and developed teeth. They fight right at birth. If two females are born into the same litter, the stronger of the two will eventually kill the other.
5. Matriarch society, holla.
6. Lookit the striped Hyena. It's sweet. Also google brown hyenas. They are pretty awesome too.
7. Their digestive tracks can handle skin and bones. The only things they cant digest are hair, hooves, and horns. They regurgitate those back up in pellet form, like owls.
8. Their closes relatives are species like the mongoose. Not dogs. They are actually closer to cats than dogs. It's all because they can do the whole "leg straight in the air, lick your crotch" thing that cats do.
